Relay For Life

I am on a relay for my life.
I keep trying to run but I’ve seem to inherit feet, that are incapable of producing flight.

Battling off sicknesses that were passed on through generations from another life.

Too afraid to move, easier to stand still, I’ve seemed to become accustomed to the thought of laying down this weakened life.

Tired of fighting the internal sickness but I am not yet willing to say goodbye. Learning not to underestimate the power that was given and assigned to me from the “Creator” of this thing called life….

We are all, on a relay for our lives.
But yet instill, some of us….some of us continue to do things to our bodies that we know are not right.
Or maybe, maybe we’ve become victims of a disease that appear to sometimes leave no opportunity for a fair fight.

So I know,
I know that it is time to do something to bring about change.
We must do something that will prolong the lively hood of our days. We should no longer sit here pointing fingers at ourselves for we can not always change the hand that life has played.
But,
We must do what we can so that we remain here able to stand….Stand to confess our stories of how we’ve made it through, Stand here to educate others so that hopefully they won’t have to go through it too…. Stand here to encourage people of how the ones before us fought to stay alive and Stand here to enforce hope, because as long as you have life, then hope remains alive.

So for the people before us, who have gone on and were not able to continue this relay:
We keep your names at close memory, for we realize that you are apart of the reason for this day.

As we come together, let us lift our hands with promise and with grace, let us take the stand to fight back and vow to never let "their" memories go down in vein.

And let us pray for a cure…. as we anticipate the coming of that day.

 But until then,

 Remember:

One body

 One life…

And we are all on a relay, for our lives.
(Race for a cure)
