Greetings, my friends!

In this particular section/page; I would like to introduce my thought or perspective on an issue that can sometimes get the best of any of us. This is more so, a lengthy topic and could very easily be a world wide debate.

When I lived in Nashville, TN- I attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Once I relocated to LA. I would often visit the church's website (mtzionanywhere.org) to receive spiritual feeding from the weekly devotion. Upon visiting the site, I read something that really stuck with me. What I read (which is shown below) served as a reminder in my personal life to not deal with things foolishly or to react in a way that would contradict what it is that I stand for. At the end of the day- realizing that whatever trouble, person or situation that I am, or have battled with- that it never was and will never be my fight. Embracing, that it is much easier to react then it is to refrain. Which in addition, utilizes my strengths and not my weaknesses. Understanding, that no matter what comes against me- that I will never have to lift one finger. Knowing, that according to "His" word that the very thing that the enemy is trying to do to me, "He" is going to turn it around and do it to them. They will die by their own swords. (Not literally or maybe???... but, you get my point.)

So, the next time you're confronted with an unpleasant surprise; be still. Know that you are not weak.  Know that you are not defeated. Instead of reacting physically, work on keeping your side of life clean and succeeding at whatever it is that you wish to accomplish during your time here on earth. Though reacting in a physical manner, to one that has caused you much harm or pain- may feel good momentarily; a constant reminder of your success, to those anxiously awaiting your demise will remain for a life time. No physical or even verbal altercation is worth sacrificing all that could possibly be in store for you.

"Let the dust from your feet, be the testimonial at their doorstep" Luke 9:5

In closing, or in reference to the message below; (posted from mtzionanywhere.org) learn to forgive because:

They Don’t Know How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

~ 1 John 3:1

Wouldn’t it be great if you could only live, work, and come across people throughout the week that get you? By this, I mean they understand what motivates you and makes you tick. They know that you mean well even when you make mistakes or not criticize you for the things they don’t understand. However, the reality is that this will never be as long as you live. There will always be someone that doesn’t understand. There will always be someone waiting to criticize the mistakes you make. Nevertheless, don’t take it to heart because if they persecuted Jesus, they will surely do the same to you. Find encouragement in the fact that you are not defined by your mistakes or shortcomings. You may be a lot of things, but above all else, you are a child of God, the same God that created the entire universe. This same God purposely designed you just the way you are. Then, God cared enough for you that He made you His child. So the next time someone offends you, give them a break because they just don’t know!
